1888年当時のもので、全50種。当時の危険な仕事をモチーフにしたユニークなシリーズ。裏面には各業種のシチュエーションが書いてあります。Dukeの淡い色彩のタイプで、この系統はダメージが明確になるため、本品のようにVGクラスのコンプリートは集めるが困難です。この淡いパステルカラータイプは全体写真で状態が分かりにくいため4枚目に拡大をのせました。
当時のリソグラフの手法の印刷が鮮やかな色彩を残しています。相場は￡1400ですが、大切にしてくださる方に譲ります。

■CigaretteCard、TobbacoCardについて:
日本でもお菓子におまけのカードがありそのコレクターは多いと思います。同様の販売促進のため、CigaretteCardというものが存在し、海外に多くのコレクターが居ます。
古くは1890年ぐらいからで、Duke、KinneyやAllen&Ginterなど優れたモダンアートのようなデザインのカードが発行されていました。
例えば、Kinneyの1888harlequincardsはその抽象的で優れたデザインがTiffanyに採用されました。その他、Allen&Ginterの野球選手のカードは日本円で3億円近くの値でオークション取引きされるなど、とても貴重なものもあります。
価値はさまざまで1930年ぐらい以降になると数十円～数千円ぐらいに落ちつきます。
最近では、イギリスのアンティーク街でフレームに入れひとつの絵画作品として売られるようになりました。
本当に美しいデザインが多く、少しでもCigaretteCardの存在が広まれば、と願って、私が個人で集めたコレクションを少しずつ出して行こうと思います。
